As the subject says - whenever I try to open projects which were created with previous versions of Code::Blocks, it crashes.

Is this a known bug?

Running Windows XP SP2, for what it's worth.

(Oh, and when I open a .C file, it immediately asks me if I want to save it! Strange.)

A complete uninstall and reinstall seems to have fixed it. Perhaps the upgrade path isn't very safe with all the various plugins.

Code::Blocks should always be installed into an empty folder.

Maybe that should be mentioned by the installer? Most installers are able to upgrade an existing installation, or will warn you if you need to uninstall the previous installation first.
