Hi,

I'm fairly ignorant of the open source develpment world, but have a little familiarity with Microsoft's visual C++. I'd like to introduce myself to the open source approach by enhancing/builidng on a simple C++ program I wrote in 1998 (visual, not console).  Code::Blocks looks like what I need.  Just what parts of the package should I download?  E.g.:  What's the difference between using the version with and without the MINGW compiler? (That's how ignorant I am.  I'm a retired mainframe PL/1 applications programmer who never had to learn to be efficient.)  I'm more than willing to start simple and build from there.

Best for 2006,
Bill

Hi Bill,

you probably want the full setup. This includes the compiler (MinGW) so you can start working straight away.
Be patient!
This bug will be fixed soon...
