Code Blocks won't start up. Please help me

I have recently just installed the 13.12 version of code blocks for Windows 8 operating system. I install it and when it asks me if I want to run it right away, I choose yes. However, the screen with the Codeblocks title and the colorful icon just stays there. No software opens up and apparently, it seems as if the software has froze. I have tried installing the previous version of codeblocks, 13.11 but still i have no luck. Please help me on this issue. Thanks, bliumilk.
