wxSmith and tooltips

I am currently using wxSmith. However I run into some problems: when entering tooltip text  everything works fine and the tooltips appear as expected. However, when something is changed and the work is saved it seems that the tooltip fields are cleared.
By creating a separate function to attach the tooltips to the controls I am able to get around this problem, but I think wxSmith should behave differently.

Am I doing something wrong?
