Why the options RUN and BUILD & Run are grayed out in C::B?

hi i just installed C::B.now when i compile the program it successfully compile but no output is generated.
and also the RUN and BUILD & RUN options are grayed out. have i configured it wrongly or it is its default setting. how i can change the setting so that after compilation it aoutomatically produce output.

reason:  problem solved. i figured out that if i open file as part of project only then options are enabled.sorry for posting such a question.
