Getting a __WXDEBUG__ not defined error when compiling in C::B

First of all, I realize this is not necessarily a C::B issue, but it only happens in C::B, so here I am.  I am using Ubuntu 10.04 and have installed all the wxwidgets packages, including the ansi-debug one.  When I attempt to do a debug build I get the "__WXDEBUG__ not defined" error.  Release builds work properly.  Anyone have a clue as to what I am missing?  Thanks.
