Unable to install using macports

I tried to install codblocks using macports and the instructions from the wiki http://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.php?title=Installing_Code::Blocks_from_source_on_Mac_OS_X#Install_with_MacPorts and it does not work. Do notice I'm a complete mac noob so i might have done something stupid. Anyway macport can not find codeblocks-devel, as the wiki shows. And porting codeblocks fails because its built as 64bit in Snow Leopard and apparently wxwidget only supports i386 and ppc not x86_64.
