C::B Crashes when you close a project you are currently compiling

Well I found I bug I think. I was compiling my project, and I accidentally closed it. Well GCC continued to compile, but it failed on linking and C::B crashed. Why is it possible to close a project you are currently compiling? It's not a big deal, but it is interesting nonetheless.

EDIT:

I submitted it over at SF, but I didn't log in first so it is submitted under nobody.  :)

Interesting, the compiler explicitely disables this item (and a few more), so that should not be possible?

And yet, you are perfectly right.  :o

Hi, do you also have a CB crashing problem when exiting CB on an XP box?

sethjackson

Nope. Well actually it crashed once when I had one .html file open. I closed C::B with the .html file open and it crashed.

CB Crashes every time I close it.  I can close the project w/o a problem, but the program ALWAYS exists by crashing.

It crashes for me every time I close it. It just started to do that with the update to RC1-1. This doesn't happen when I use RC1. I can close project just fine. I am working on Windows XP sp2.

Cool   8) , I"m not the only one & you've narrowed it down to a specific version.  Excellent!  Ok, what do we do to notify a programmer fo this bug?  I'm still to new to know the proper protocol.   :)

Found the source of the problem.

Everytime I choose Auto-Hide Message pane under Environment/View Tab and exit the app, it saves the environment change but starts crashing everytime I exit.  I'm using an XP box on an Intel.  Wow.  This is awesome to find.   :D

& I'll be sure to search the deleted/fixed bugs sections next time.   Sorry about that. :(

Yes, we know :P I'm the one who fixed that bug in CVS/SVN.

Perhaps we should add it to the long-forgotten "known issues" page.
