Hi all, I suppose this question has been asked before (I have searched!!) but is it possible to update to the latest compiler? and how to do it.

Just select the compiler you like, install it and change the path in Settings -> Compiler -> Some compiler -> Toolchain executables. The wiki is full of examples for various compilers.
(most of the time I ignore long posts)
