I'm not an expert on this, but it DOES compete things for you. It does need some work. I switched from dev-cpp to code:blocks and the only thing I miss is the code completion stuff. I did hear that the code completion is being worked on.

Code completion is in WIP. I will not be surprised if in a not too far future we weill get some good news .
