there should be an "output for version x" option

I dowloaded the latest SVN nightly(march 9) and noticed that the cbp format has changed..AGAIN!
Now, I am making a project that uses a makefile, but still, I think that it would be annoying for people with RC2 to update to a nightly build...and well I think a output for this version type option would be great! plus it just sounds like it should be done...
Things like Flash support outputting to an older version, so why not this?
