What's the differrent between C::B CVS VERSION_1_0 & CVS 1_0_RC_1_1

Sorry about newbies question, but it has a lot of versions in CVS file.  I think 1_0_RC_1_1 is newest version but someone told me that VERSION_1_0 will always update itself if C::B has a newer version. I don't know I think right?

VERSION_1_0 is a BRANCH of the cvs tree. It'll always get updated (just as HEAD, which is the TRUNK)

1_0_RC_1_1 is a TAG inside the branch. It's fixed.
