How do I generate a .depend file?

I have Code::Blocks svn build 4564 running on Windows XP.

Why does Code::Blocks generate .depend files for some projects but not others?  (Or it sometimes makes the .depend file, but the file has no entries.)

How can I get Code::Blocks to generate .depend files for me?
