Ol Country Tek

 ;D I too, am human/not 'bot.

About two dozen years ago, my work sent me to a 'C' programming course.  Taught on OS/2, no less!  My programming here was all done in Visual BASIC and Clipper on the PC and a COBOL-like language called PowerHouse on the VAX.  As I near retirement, it's time to start thinking about my next gig. (Men in my family don't last long in retirement. Being out-to-pasture just doesn't seem to work for us.) Anyway, I'm getting back into Linux, and I'm thinking that competence in 'C'  would be a good thing to have.

Been working with computers since 1980, and I was born country, so that's where the Ol Country Tek moniker comes from.

Hi! I'm a 23/F from New Zealand. The idea of programming interests me, and I'd like to know more! I did one paper at university covering comp sci basics in Java, but it was just an interest paper before finishing an unrelated degree. I've heard that C/C++ is more useful than Java, so I'm going to give this a go.

Are there any resources/tutorials/practice problems that you would recommend? I have C for Dummies, but that's the only book I have on the subject, haha.

Cheers :)

I am new, I am here.
Have been using Code::Blocks
- on PC with MinGW for 3 years,
- on Raspberry Pi for 1 year ;-),
- just started to use it on Macbook Air/OSX

I've used Code::Blocks for a while, but I'm only now joining the forums. I've all but given up on using Code::Blocks on Mac, but best of luck to you, Yannick!

I am new here.  I am a retired COBOL (what's that?) programmer.  I am attempting to learn C++ so that I can join Anonymous (kidding!).

Hi I am really me, not a machine...

Anyway, it's amazing those spam-bots solving your anti-spam-bots signin riddles...  :)
What language are they coded in?

I've been using Code::Blocks for a while, but I've just joined the forums.

I Love C::B and I want to thank all the people who spent and spends time creating and expanding it. Both: core code and pluggings and contributions

THANKS
