This is disabled in linux because removing the icons makes no sense.
In windows, it behaves like a listbox.
In linux, it just shows no icons (but the text is spaced out like there were icons).

Hmm... Is it wxWidgets bug or Code::Blocks implementation? Or it is not a bug at all?..  :?

There is no documentation for this class yet but its usage is identical to wxNotebook (except for the features clearly related to tabs only), so please refer to that class documentation for now.
