Focus lost after ctrl-tab

Running CB 8.02 as installed by apt-get under Ubuntu 9.04 32bit, using ctrl-tab to switch files loses the keyboard input focus. For example, if I am typing in file A then hit ctrl-tab to switch to file B, the input focus seems to be lost. Focus is not in the editor window for file B nor anywhere else that I can tell. Clicking file B manually, running 'focus editor', or alt-tabing away from and back to CB all return focus to the editor as expected. Also, using F11 to switch between source and header files works as expected and assigns focus properly.

Any ideas how to work around this issue? As it stands (under Ubuntu 9.04), ctrl-tab in CB is rather unusable.
