create a new project - no template?

I am using codeblocks-8.02-amd64.tar.gz
on http://www.codeblocks.org/downloads/5#linux64

And my machine is EM64T Xeon, Ubuntu 8.02 amd64

I've seen similar problems in the forum before, but came up with no solution.

any idea?

Did you turn on the "Scripted Wizard" plugin; the common cause for almost all users with this problem?
