new project error

i just got codeblocks and installed it
i start the program close the tips
and select
File->New->Project
as soon as i do i get the windows thing
where it tells u that an error has occurred
and the program must close
i tried alternate methods of opening a new project
but same thing
any help?

Which version of Code::Blocks are you using and under which OS?

Please give some more details otherwise it will be hard to reproduce your problem or to give you any useful hints.

its hard to give more details b/c i downloaded, installed, ran, and found error in less than 5 min
i started the program after installing, tried to open a new project, then windows informs me that the program is encountering problems and had to close. then, like always, it asks if u would like to send an error report and of course i said no.
i am thinking of trying to download an earlier version
