I am having difficulty uploading my avitar, which is in .gif format, are gifs allowable?

EEK! Please use a less annoying avatar.
Preferably a non-animated one, or at the very least a less animated one (not so fast and maybe less change). Your current one is simply too distracting while reading the posts.
Oh, and it currently has a scroll bar under it here, so you might want to size it down too. 192x136 is simply too big for those of us with only 1024x768 screens .
