Open correct tab on start up

I'm running version 13.12 rev 9501 (Ubuntu 14.10), but I've had this issue for years.

I keep many tabs from multiple projects open at the same time. I would like C::B to return to the most recent tab I used on start up, but the tab I get on  start up seems to be fixed to some particular file and I have no idea why that one seems to be chosen. It's always the same file, and it's one I hardly ever edit. How can I get the most recent file I edited to be the one that is opened on start up? Or how can I manually change the tab that it chooses?

Thank you!

A quick follow up. I posted this same question about 3 years ago and got no replies then, either. I am very curious to know if that's because: (1) everybody has the same problem and just lives with it; (2) it's too trivial to worry about; (3) it's inappropriate for this forum. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks again!

Jenna

It's not implemented in 13.12.
If you can use a nightly-build or build C::B yourself, it should work.

rjl

Are you saying that it will work that way in the next release?

Yes, but to make sure you can try a night build and then tell us if it works as expected.

Research as to how best to do this on Ubuntu has left me confused. (E.g. comments I don't understand about no packages for Debian testing available.) Can you suggest an approach for me? Thanks!

rjl

I can't seem to figure out how to load a nightly build, so I guess I'll wait for the next release. Fingers crossed!

Just for the record:
tjhe actual nightly from my (debian-stable-)repo seems to work fine with Ubuntu 14.10 (just tested with a fresh install in one of my VM's).
