First impressions is very important, and it's what attract people (and developers, etc).
This is why I tried to make it a bit of an eye-catcher with interesting effects, not just a white square with rounded corners. It is why there are curves, cross-fades, and a smooth transparency falloff.
The main idea in this startup screen's design is to be "different". :)

Quote from: Takeshi Miya on February 01, 2006, 09:57:36 PMIt should be a task for design people, not programmers.
That's OK with me, I am not a programmer ;)

did everyone notice, the latest one (svn)  is talking about : Code::Blocks, the studio was dropped !!!!
Yes, that is the correct title. There is no "Studio".

Yes, interesting, but you fail again to hear people feedback here.
Simplicity is what most people seems to like here, and it goes against all those stuff and effects.
That's why I changed my version to be more simple and clean.

I have never thought that such a lot of people like the simplicity :o. Interesting :D.
<-See what I mean?

If that's the case, me neither.
