But this doesnt turn this forum into the place to report (known) issues of a third party library used by a third party library. I doubt anyone from the libtiff team will show up here and read this, a better place would be their issue tracker.

omlk: These are warnings in another project. What do you expect we can do with them? If you want them fixed report them to the libtiff people...

What do you not understand about that this is not the place to discuss such topics?

And now present that to the libtiff people, i'm sure they will be happy about that you broke compilation for systems that don't have long long and silenced (not fixed) the data loss with that double cast.

And if you want even more work, compile some random code with MSVC that uses STL with mode /W4 and fix all the warnings in their STL implementation.
