Code Blocks won't let me create other projects

I was trying to open a .c file and I chose CodeBlocks to open the file with. Everything went fine. However, the next day, I tried to create a new console application but the resources tab has a different icon and no project file with the specified name of the project opens and nothing works. I can't find any solution to this. I tried reinstalling but the problem persists. Any help would be appreciated.

Press the left arrow (under the M of Management) until you see a tab titled Projects; then click on the tab
