Hi to all,

this is a question that is outside from the scope of codeblocks, but those somebody had heard of the plans on privatizing the internet.

I know that this is old, but I just recently got to know it. Could this be really done? There are millions of websites. Does we will have to paid to access sourceforge  jeje or other information websites, damn.

I can't believe that people is trying to make true such a thing. This is really bad. Some one has info about this? I think this will affect all of us.

Yes but not paying for content access, only for an internet connection, read this http://www.commondreams.org/views03/0805-07.htm

Maybe I doesn't understand something right. Or is a false rumor?

If this privatisation was really underway we would certainly have heard about it since then. Hightech industry knows to get things to move if they want more benefits.

I saw an article on a local newspaper of my country citing a "New York Times" article talking about this, and thats why I got worried. I can't find the article, but check this website is of an organization that is against this:

And there are many other websites on google with this.

This seems to be a reality that have to be stop. At least one organization is fighting against this.

I think this is the famous talk about "two-tiered internet" and "internet neutrality". Search slashdot for Net Neutrality and you'll get all the info you need.

Ja ne.

Thanks, :)

Now I understand better. Here the wikipedia definitions of this terms

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_neutrality
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiered_service

So a tiered service is the dangerous one.
