A better console ?

When I launch a Build>Run command for some C:B project, the output is displayed on a console which seems to me rather poorly designed (for instance, as far as I can see, if the output is rich, it is impossible (?) to go back and through to inspect the whole output data).
Two questions then :
- is it possible to tell C:B to send the output of a Build>Run to some external console (KDE Konsole, for instance, under a Linux system)
- if not is it possible to customize the internal console of C:B ?
